The new kid on the block – Atom. Obedient, Cute and an excellent mimic – Atom, the one with the blue eyes stole our hearts on Thursday night at one of the halls at PVR. Max was even better, and so did the main attraction for watching the movie – one Mr Jackman
Serendipity brings together, Charlie and his eleven-year old son Max together one summer, then later they meet Atom in a junk yard — his outstretched arm saved Max from falling into the depths of a huge dark, watery pit of metal! …. From the junk yard, into Bailey’s gym cum repair studio, Atom becomes family.
He is the hero of the tale and therefore, he’s special – he’s special because of his blue eyes, those innocent blue eyes that smiles, his moves he mimics from Max on shadow mode, his resilience when punched down and out to stand up for play the next round!
Together, Atom and Max, and Charlie, make a deadly pair, – the metal, the brain and the boxing talent – there is a will to survive, to fight and win…
Real Steel (2011) is about WRB (World Robert Boxing) at the story level, at a meta level it is about getting back your inner strength and confidence to fight life. It’s about boxing, it’s about Atom fighting in the ring, with Max and Charlie at the controls
—- East or West, North or South, 2014 or 20—–, Atom is the best… so is Max and his father, Charlie (Hugh Jackman)… and his friend, Bailey (Evangeline Lilly).
An adrenaline rush similar to watching the world cup final, at the edge of our seats, the triumphs and the disappointments while routing for your favourite player…
Also, look out for: the splendid skies, clouds, sunshined clouds and yellow leafy trees… too.. and the little Max, played by Dakota Goyo
A real treat
Direction: Shawn Levy| Adaptation: Short Story “Steel” by Richard Matheson| Genre: Science Fiction
